COMPLAINTS are still pouring in about the traffic diversion in Marlborough that is now in its third week.
One-way traffic has been introduced down Herd Street and Barn Street and up Kingsbury Street for six weeks while developers work on the former Dobson's Garage.
The one-way system has been benefiting families in Herd Street and Barn Street but it has brought noise, fumes and vibration problems for families and businesses in Kingsbury Street and in the High Street.
Former hotelier Sue Benz who lives in Kingsbury Street has written to the county and town councils.
Mrs Benz wrote: "Since the introduction of a one-way system for all the A346/A4 traffic going down Herd Street and coming up Kingsbury Street the noise, fumes, dust and rubbish levels have risen to an intolerable point. This is 'an accident waiting to happen' situation," wrote Mrs Benz.
County councillor Margaret Boulton said she was aware of the concern of the residents and traders in Kingsbury Street but the one-way system would be in force for as short a period as possible.
