PUBLIC comments about Swindon town centre's alcohol-free zone are welcomed by the council.
Since November 2002 the police have had the power to order people to stop drinking in public places throughout much of the town centre.
They also have the power to confiscate alcohol and arrest people who fail to comply with their instructions.
The aim of the zone is to make the town a more pleasant place for the public and improve custom for businesses.
