WE are alarmed to hear that schools within the borough might choose to save money by getting rid of their kitchens and will no longer be able to produce school meals or teach cooking.
The Swindon Local Food Task Force aims to increase the amount of locally produced food grown and consumed in the Swindon area.
The task force hopes to encourage schools to teach children about local produce, including preparing healthy, nutritious and tasty meals.
But will the borough's schools still have kitchens that could be used for this purpose?
If, as pupil, parent, teacher or governor (or anything else!) you share our worries, please inform the powers that be in the schools as soon as possible.
A kitchen once taken out would be too expensive to reinstate.
