I AM writing in response to an anonymous article in the Advertiser titled Are you aiding extremists?
Your mis-informed correspondent might persuade animal lovers that donations they give to animal charities or organisations might be mis-used by people campaigning against vivisection.
Lord Sainsbury, who was given his peerage and Government post as science minister as a result of him being the largest contributor to the Labour Party (£11 million) is driving an obscene campaign against animal lovers in this country in order to prop up ailing pharmaceutical companies who make a lot of money, carrying out unnecessary and cruel animal experiments.
In over 15 years of involvement with animal charities nationally and in the Swindon area, I can honestly say that I have never seen funds used for purposes other than which they were intended.
One word of warning, I have seen local hunts making illegal collections on a number of occasions and some misguided passers-by could be duped into thinking they are putting money towards animal welfare when the opposite is the truth.
