As the great-grandparents of Jessica Brown who was elected as Butterfly attendant for the carnival, we were very upset, as were the rest of her family, to see the wrong name for her in the photo in the Gazette.

I suspect Alice Scholfield's relatives were equally upset to see the wrong photograph for her (she was supposed to be carnival princess).

Jessica was told to hold her bouquet higher, which then covered most of her face in the photograph. Nobody told her to lower it.

Now having bought a carnival programme we find that the same

mistake has been made in the centrefold pictures. I do not know what can be done to rectify this now that the programmes are being bought, but I think that the Gazette should get the facts right before printing photos.

It has caused distress to the children as well as their families.
