CHIPPENHAM NEWS: A CORSHAM councillor has challenged his colleagues to start car sharing.
The results of a car parking survey of businesses in Corsham town centre were discussed at a meeting of the transport working group at the end of July.
Corsham town councillor Alan Bosley said: "Out of that discussion we thought it was a good idea to encourage car sharing."
The survey was carried out to understand the driving habits of retailers in Corsham.
Cllr Bosley said from the 60 per cent response rate it was clear retail workers were taking up a large number of the parking spaces.
At the council meeting on Monday he said: "There are more people who actually run shops here who take up the car parking spaces than there are car parking spaces, so in theory there is nowhere left for people to park."
