NORTH Bradley lifted the Wessex Midweek League knockout cup after a dramatic last ball victory against Westbury at Trowbridge cricket club.
In a match that was delayed 30 minutes due to the Wiltshire's Air Ambulance landing on the pitch after a nearby accident, North Bradley scored seven runs off the last two balls to seal the win.
Westbury finished their 20 overs on 124-8 and at 55-2 from seven overs, North Bradley were looking in control.
But the enforced stoppage knocked them out of their stride and with darkness closing in it looked as though the landing might affect the result.
At 9.15pm and the ground in almost complete darkness, North Bradley were seven runs behind with two balls remaining.
But a boundary and then a three off the last ball, North Bradley clinched the trophy having lost three fewer wickets.
Westbury's Alex Hart won the man of the match award.
League secretary Dennis Jones, said: "We were all relieved the stoppage didn't change the result because for a while it looked as though it might. It was a thrilling finish to an exciting competition."
The Wessex Mid-week league is a 20 over competition with eight teams competing.
Winners of this year's league were Warminster while North Bradley's Des Gingell and Semington's Guy Tadman were voted players of the season.
