28546/2AN exhibition of traditional spinning, weaving and dyeing has gone on display in Lacock.
To celebrate 40 years of the Wiltshire Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers a four-day interactive museum is being held at Lacock village hall.
The show includes an Afghan rug made by the 86 guild members using the traditional tools and skills.
Secretary Valerie Laverick said: "Throughout the five days we have members spinning and weaving and there is plenty for children to take part in.
"People from all over the country have been phoning to ask when we will be holding the exhibition this year and here it is.
Lacock always proves popular.
"We always try to make the exhibition special because members have worked hard all year to get their exhibits ready.
"The Afghan throw is a real team effort. Everyone was involved in making it. The whole process took four months.
"We collected the fleece, dyed it and shared the work before putting it together.
"Children are coming in to learn how we use the traditional tools and skills to spin, weave and dye."
Chairman Josephine Palmer opened the exhibition on Wednesday.
The show runs until Monday and costs 20p for adults but children can visit free.
