A FANCY dress parade will kick off festivities in Seend tomorrow as the village holds its 55th annual flower show and the summer fete.
The Westerners show team will recreate scenes for the old Wild West, the Bassett Allsorts dog teams will demonstrate the high speed game of flyball and children will be entertained by Snuffy's magic show and Punch and Judy.
Music will be provided by well-known local group, the Rough Street Jug Band.
There will also be a bouncy castle, steam train rides, stalls, classic cars and target bowls and golf, along with refreshments and a beer tent.
The fete will be held at the Lye Recreation Field from 1.15pm and the flower show will be at the Seend Social club next to the field.
Each event programme provides entry to a competition, the prizes for which include a day pass for six people to Longleat and a £20 meal voucher for the Three Magpies pub.
There will also be a draw and a tombola with prizes including a weekend break for four to Dunster, Somerset and a canal boat trip.
Proceeds will go towards the upkeep of the Lye Field and the village pavilion.
