Organiser Debbie FoxROMANTIC couples from around Wiltshire will soon have the chance to relive the happiest day of their lives and raise money for the Wiltshire Times 150 Fund at the same time.

The Wedding Summer Ball at Trowbridge Civic Hall next month is for those who want to recreate their wedding evening party.

Organiser Debbie Fox, from Westbury, said: "It will be an absolutely fabulous evening. It is a nice chance for people to celebrate all over again."

Over 100 couples can be catered for at the event, many of whom will be coming along in full wedding regalia, although evening dress and ball gowns will be the choice of others.

Guests will be greeted with a pre-wedding Bucks Fizz and will have the chance to have their photograph taken by a professional photographer.

There will be a seated table plan, and guests will dine on a summer buffet before dancing the night away to music provided by six-piece band, Gypsy, and a disco.

A charity raffle will be held on the night and a special prize will be donated to the table with the longest years of marriage between them.

The proceeds from the event, to be held on September 25, will be divided between the Wiltshire Times 150 Fund and Dorothy House hospice, Winsley.

Tickets cost £25 per person and are available from Debbie Fox on (01373) 304747 or 07811 333253.

Anyone who wants to arrange champagne or other celebration drinks on their table will need to order them from Mrs Fox before the night.

Another event to look forward to in Trowbridge is the upcoming Musical Mayhem day at the Twelve Bells pub in Seymour Road.

Organisers held a similar event at Easter, raising over £500, and the success of that day has prompted them to try and recreate the magic.

The idea for the fundraiser grew out of weekly jam sessions held at the pub, when local musicians come along and joined in.

The evenings have proved such a success that several bands have been formed through the sessions.

Bands lined up to appear at the next Musical Mayhem, on August 29, included The Buttmonkeys, Cursus, MGB and The Usual Suspects.

Twenty-five per cent of the proceeds will be donated to the 150 Fund, with the rest earmarked for a new PA system for the pub.

Organisers of Musical Mayhem are looking for local businesses to come forward with raffle prizes.

Anyone who can help can find details at the Twelve Bells sessions website at www.t250.freeserve.co.uk or call landlord Don Holden on (01225) 752905.
