AN ARMY colonel seriously injured in a road accident near Warminster has had an operation to reattach part of his arm.
Paramedics had to amputate Col John Ibbotson's limb at the elbow at the scene of the crash between Longbridge Deverill and Maiden Bradley last Wednesday.
The 51-year-old was riding his bicycle when he collided head on with a Suzuki Wagon and was thrown 10 yards along the road.
He is being treated at Frenchay Hospital, Bristol where his condition is described as stable.
