A CHURCH will have metal guards on six of its windows if a planning application is accepted.
The black-coated stainless steel window guards would be fixed on the windows of the Holy Trinity Church in Bradford on Avon to protect them against damage.
Church warden Tony Haffenden said: "The church has been there since the 11th century so we kind of need to make certain that we hand it over to our children in good condition.
"We have an ancient monument there and acts of God and all kinds of things can affect it."
He said the guards would be tasteful and in keeping with the church.
The planning committee recommended accepting the application but West Wiltshire District Council will have the final say and approval is also needed from the Diocese in Salisbury.
