I AM writing in response to the letter regarding the home zone in College Road/Beech Grove.
My father-in-law lives adjacent to the play area and I have noticed the decline.
The fact that it can't be safe for children with all the cars that drive through.
In meetings that we attended at the Trowbridge College it was stated that money for improving the play area would be put aside.
As this is the only amenity on the estate it is something that should be addressed.
The money that went towards the consultancy fees (some £250,000) should have been put towards this project instead of some designer that decided to place speed ramps over drains, a so-called non-roundabout and whatever those small 'hot tubs' are at the beginning of Beech Grove.
And as stating that children were safe to play in the road, well, that sums up the county council.
S DOBSON,
Trowbridge.
