CIRENCESTER TOWN begin life in a new division with an equally new mentality.
Brian Hughes' Centurions enter the top flight of the Southern League with a reputation for free-flowing, attacking football.
But Ciren fans looking forward to another abundance of goals may be disappointed as Hughes bids to curb their attacking instincts while the club find their feet at the new level.
"I'm toying with the idea of tightening things up a bit at least for the first few games," said Hughes.
"After the poor start we made last season it would help to get some points on the board early."
Histon are the visitors to the Corinium tomorrow another team with cavalier tendancies.
The Cambridge outfit were the top scorers in the entire Southern League last season, hitting 96 goals while finishing second in the Eastern Division.
Ciren's injury problems are minimal as you would expect at this stage of the season.
Andy McCabe is the main absentee. The winger is carrying ligament damage and is set to miss the first few weeks of the campaign.
But long-term absentee Andy Minturn is on the road to recovery. The defender has returned to training after missing most of last season with a serious cruciate injury.
n STEVE WHITE has his first selection dilemma of the season before a ball has been kicked.
He takes his Chippenham side to Dunstable for their Premier Division opener with a goalkeeping headache.
Former Forest Green custodian Chris Gianangelo misses out with an injured ankle.
That leaves a battle for the No 1 shirt between the established Mark Hervin and youngster Chris Astley. Hervin's experience should see him get the nod.
Elsewhere, White has the pick of a fully-fit squad, with Scott Walker shaking off a knock in time to start on the left flank.
Triallist midfielder Andy Kirk is also expected to complete his move to Hardenhuish in time to feature.
Opponents Dunstable finished a respectable fifth in Division One North of the Ryman League last season, but were thrashed 5-1 by Thurrock in the Bryco Cup final last Saturday.
