Throughout September, Swindonians will be given the chance to get more active in a series of events.
As part of the Welcome to Walking Week, the Ramblers' Association is running a series of brisk, healthy walks from September 18 to 26.
One such walk will be in Wroughton area on September 19. Led by Pat Crabb, the walk is designed to promote healthy exercise and a love of the countryside.
The event, which starts at 2pm at the Wroughton Church Car Park, will take participants on a three-mile, circular walk through Clouts Wood Nature Reserve.
Although parents are encouraged to bring children, the route is not suitable for wheelchair users or pushchairs. For more information, call Pat on 01793 740450.
For those who want to get fit but have never found the time, Swindon Council's Get Active Day on September 15 is designed to show people how easy it is to fit exercise into their lives.
Participants will be given the chance to learn about recommended aerobic daily activities for adults, such as walking, running, digging the garden or keeping fit to music.
Swindon's leisure centres are offering free sessions. For more information, call 01793 511033.
