FITNESS fans can take part in an annual event aimed at getting people active.
The Get Active Day, organised by a partnership between Swindon Borough Council and Swindon Primary Care Trust, will be held on September 15.
A spokesman said the aim of the day was to raise awareness about how easy it is to be active.
He said: "Formal exercise can play a very important part of our everyday lives.
"Although Get Active Day encourages inactive people to take part in physical activity, the initiative also celebrates those people who are already active and congratulates them for their commitment to their health and well being."
Doctors recommend at least 30 minutes of exercise every day to help reduce the risk of heart disease, increase energy levels and control weight.
Organisers are urging everyone to do at least 15 minutes of exercise during Get Active Day.
