RODBOURNE CHENEY are through to the next round in the National Fours at Worthing after a tremendous fightback.
The quartet of Dave Royle, Rob Petrie, Roy Carter and Gary Morphet came from 9-0 down to beat Middlesbrough 22-18.
Their cause was helped considerably by a maximum count of eight on the 14th end.
However, the Purton rink of Dave Hall, Max Holland, Reg Wadsworth and Ian Williams just missed out losing 16-13 to Trent Vale (Notts) skipped by England international Brett Morley.
n WOOTTON BASSETT duo of Barbara Twine and Barry Sictorness are through to the last 32 in the National Mixed Pairs.
They won the Wiltshire title with their sixth victory of the competition, a convincing 21-13 win over Marlborough's Trevor and Ellen Bolland in the county final.
The Wootton Bassett partnership now represent Wiltshire and progress to the regional final that will be held at Winscombe (Somerset) on August 29.
They face Isle of Wight and if successful then play the winners of Herefordshire and Somerset.
Eight teams will compete at four regional finals around the country with two from each venue qualifying for the finals weekend to be staged at Egham (Surrey) on September 25 and 26.
HAYDON WICK'S captain's day saw the club hoist their new flag.
It replaces the original with Bill Edenborough, club president, playing a key role in the design of the replacement.
