Ref. 71781-77 INSET Danny PockSTAFF from Tyco Electronics will be getting on their bikes in memory of a colleague who died from a heart attack aged 51.

Danny Pook died suddenly in March last year, leaving family, friends and colleagues in shock.

So this year five of Danny's former colleagues are set to cycle 47 miles on a circular route around Swindon and Devizes on the Wiltshire Heart Cycle Ride to raise cash for the British Heart Found-ation.

Lee Bizley, 25, an operator at Tyco in Faraday Road, Dorcan, said that the staff would like to hold an annual memorial event.

Lee and co-workers Paul Costa, Vic Whitmore, Steve Bizley, Lee's father, and Jeff Pook, Danny's brother, will all be taking to the road.

They have already received £250 from Tyco and are hoping to raise at least another £500.

They have also been given Team Tyco kit from the company.

Lee said: "Danny was such a well-respected bloke that we all wanted to do something.

"He was a really important member of the team and a great guy.

"He always had a smile on his face and loved life. No-one had a bad word to say about him.

"His death was such a shock. He was so young. Even today we are still shocked. He should be with us."

Danny, who was a keen Swindon Town and Chelsea fan, lived in Stratton.

He is survived by his widow, Sue, and three children Emma, 25, Daniel, 24, and Lee, 23.

Danny's former colleagues have already started collecting sponsors for the bike ride, which is taking place on Saturday, September 5.

They are appealing to members of the public to donate cash and help them pass their £500 target.

Danny's brother Jeff has already taken part in sponsored bike rides in memory of his brother and colleagues from Tyco last year took part in the British Heart Found-ation's dragon boat race.
