Ref. 71775-30Jeanette Hancock was swept off her feet on her 70th birthday on the back of a Harley Davidson.
Three strapping leather-clad riders atop three gleaming Harley Davidsons pulled up outside her home in Marlborough to whisk her off for a surprise birthday lunch over the weekend.
Jeanette, of Baywater, said: "I couldn't believe it. I remember commenting once that I fancied riding on the back of a Harley. But I certainly didn't expect this."
Her niece Anne Cunningham, 52, from Swindon, helped make Jeanette's wish come true with the help of her partner Bev Barnes as he has contacts in biking circles.
Although Jeanette turned 70 last Thursday, the surprise ride was arranged for Sunday so that her husband Peter, 70, family and friends could all witness her shock.
She said: "I had to get changed into leathers. There were lots of zips and it was very hot."
But once Jeanette took to the open road, she was in her element.
"I loved every minute of it. You're never too old to do something out of the ordinary," she said.
"It was a wonderful surprise and I wouldn't mind being taken on another ride."
Jeanette travelled to Compton Bassett for lunch at the White Horse pub.
