SOME of Wiltshire's favourite musicians have got together and made a CD to raise cash for the Prospect Hospice in Wroughton.
Superstar Sting, who has a home in Salisbury, has set the charity fund ball rolling with a £500 donation and a group of the artists will be appearing at the Royal Oak, in Marlborough, on Thursday to perform some of the tracks live.
Among the acts will be Tom and Terry McKenna, Mickey P, former lead vocalist with 60s band Diamonds, Marilyn Monroe look-alike Melanie and Gaffer and Willis, who have been support acts for top bands like the Troggs and The Hollies.
The evening starts at 8pm.
It costs £6,000 a day to run the hospice and it is funded by private and corporate donations, fundraising and from profits made in its seven shops three in Swindon, and one each in Wootton Bassett, Wroughton, Marlborough and Pewsey.
Anyone who wishes to contribute should contact the fundraising office on 01793 815142.
