Ref. 29118-25SAVE OUR POST OFFICES:SHAW residents hit the headlines earlier this year when they took on supermarket giant Tesco and won.
The chain, which has taken over the former One Stop convenience stores, wanted to axe the post office to make more space for food.
But following fierce opposition from people living nearby, it was forced to bow to people pressure and scrap its plans.
Julia Drown, MP for South Swindon, was one of the key campaigners. Ms Drown is also backing our campaign to save the latest under-threat post offices. Speaking at the time she said: "It was very clear to me that if the post office closed it would cause a lot of problems for many residents. I congratulate local residents for making their voices clearly heard. People power can work and it has done."
