JUDGING from the letters printed in the Evening Advertiser there are many of your readers, myself included, who do not understand how decisions about the future shape of Swindon were made, or by whom and why since someone proposed the canal.
An overview of this local history and politics would help us all to be more objective about now and the future.
What an opportunity for the borough and Wiltshire County Council to educate everyone, including those who neither read the Advertiser nor vote.
Sorry Mr Angus, the town's best asset has always been and always will be its people, especially its young people, and those who strive to develop their potential to the maximum.
