Fairford's losing streak stretched to three matches after a five-wicket defeat against a lowly Tewkesbury side.
Asked to bat, Fairford struggled for long periods against a limited but disciplined bowling attack.
After Clarke departed for 12, Townsend regained some form with a rapid run-a-ball 33 before falling to a boundary catch.
Earlier Leadbeater fell for a diligent 29, then another quick wicket reduced Fairford to 91-4 after 33 overs. Greener launched three sixes in his 30 as Fairford closed on 168-7.
Tewkesbury lost only one wicket, to Messer, as they neared 100 at the drinks break. Newport and Moreing took two quick wickets each reducing Tewkesbury to 106-5, but Eckersley punished several errors to see his side home.
