FIGHELDEAN'S 13th annual summer fair proved anything but unlucky - because it turned out to be the best ever.
More than 3,000 visitors helped raise more than £4,600 at the fair and associated events, which has now been distributed to village groups and appeals.
Chairman of the fair committee Trevor Woodbridge said the committee was delighted it had been able to help so many clubs and causes, and he thanked everyone who had supported the event, held on July 18.
Each recipient has received the amount they asked for, including £220 to Figheldean Rangers FC; £500 to St Michael's Church; £350 to the youth club; £100 to short mat bowls; £480 to the over-60s club; £1,500 to the village hall for a new heating system, and £1,500 to the parish council towards a multi-court for the village.
