A WILTSHIRE Army Cadet Force officer has been rewarded for his services to the force.
Captain Peter White, of Netheravon, has been presented with the Army Cadet Force Medal for outstanding service to Wiltshire ACF.
Lieutenant General Sir Maurice Johnston presented Captain White with the award during his visit to the ACF's Annual Camp at Crowborough.
The medal is the highest honour that can be awarded to a member of the ACF.
A regular soldier in the Royal Engineers for six years, Captain White joined the ACF in 1991.
His work on outdoor pursuits, alongside his role as county football officer, has seen Wiltshire ACF enter the Arnhem Commemorative Marches for the past five years.
Captain White hopes to gain his Mountain Leader Award Qualification later this year and plans to develop his interest in outdoor pursuits, to encourage youngsters to develop their potential by undertaking challenging events.
Captain White, who works for Kennet district council, was modest about the award.
He said: "This is a great honour for me. It is amazing to get an award for something that I enjoy doing so much."
