FIVE community groups from Haydon Wick are looking forward to spending grants they have been awarded.
More than £2,600 has been allocated to the groups from the Haydon Wick Fund of the Wiltshire Community Foundation.
Among those benefiting are the Haydon Wick Rangers, the Emmanuel United Reform Church, the Fox and Hounds cricket club, the Young At Heart over 60s club and the Haydon Artists' Society.
Alan Fletcher, the chairman of the grants panel, said: "These are the first grants from the new fund and we are sure that they will prove to be of great value to the organisations.
"We hope to help many more groups in the years to come."
The Haydon Wick Fund was set up after the Haydon Wick Community Association was disbanded and eventually hopes to allocate £6,000 each year.
It next meets in January to consider applications from eligible local groups.
