FORTY jobs have been created in preparation for when the former Safeway store in Haydon Wick, Swindon, reopens as a Morrisons next month.
Yorkshire-based Morrisons bought the Safeway chain earlier this year.
It announced Safeways stores across the country would change from their current green, red and white logos to the Morrisons' yellow and black.
The next store to be converted will be the one in Thames Avenue.
Store general manager Mark Wye said: "We are confident that Morrisons will be a huge success in Swindon and that is why we have created 40 new full and part-time jobs to cope with the extra business we will be generating, and to deliver a high level of customer service.
"The recruitment programme was a great success and we have a first-class team in place to ensure we give the best service to new and regular shoppers."
