SUNDAY will see the Stratton St Margaret branch of the Royal British Legion have its new standard dedicated.
Members and well-wishers will gather at St Philips Church in Beechcroft Road for the ceremony, which will begin at 10.30am.
The ceremony will be conducted by the Rev Carol Stone.
Branch spokesman Andrew Payne said: "The standard will be dedicated to our new standard bearer, Adam Payne.
"At only 17 years of age he will be one of the youngest Royal British Legion standard bearers in the county. He takes over from Mr George Platt, who has been loyally carrying the standard for many years.
"But Mr Platt will not stand down completely, as he will be on hand to give Adam all the help and support that he will need in this honoured role."
Following the ceremony, members and friends will enjoy a buffet at branch headquarters in St Philip's Road.
All are welcome at the church.
