GAZETTE & HERALD: A Chippenham couple who ran a computer consultancy business that went bust with debts of nearly £40,000 have been banned from acting as company directors for five years each.
Glynis Deeks, 50, and Peter John Deeks, 48, of Audley Road, were directors of Seymac 42 Ltd, which they ran from their home.
Bath County Court made the Disqualification Order, which also prevented the Deeks from being directly or indirectly concerned or taking part in the promotion, formation or management of a company for five years.
Mrs Deeks declined to comment on the proceedings to the Gazette.
The business was placed into compulsory liquidation on 30 October 2002 with estimated total debts of £38,409.
The Official Receiver at Bristol conducted the investigation and brought the disqualification proceedings on behalf of the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry.
The unfit conduct included failing to make PAYE and National Insurance Contribution payments to Inland Revenue, as well as Corporation Tax and HM Customs & Excise for VAT, while continuing to make payments to themselves. In addition Mrs Deeks failed to keep good accounting records.
