NEW boy Gary Thorne says that he will still give his little brother and captain Wayne abuse if he plays badly.
Chippenham's defence stood stern on Saturday as they kept a clean sheet. They all looked a good solid unit and the two brothers connected well at the back.
Dunstable could only manage two shots on goal as the defence stood up to everything that was thrown at them. Wayne, 24, made a few interceptions and Gary, 27, was fierce with his tackling.
As brothers they have played football together since a young age and even played in defence together before.
On Saturday they seemed to have a good understanding of each other and knew how each other reacted. Wayne said: "It is good to play with him. He is a great asset to the club as he talks a lot. He is older than me and always bosses me about. He does accept that I'm the captain and he has just arrived at the club."
Gary admits that he does talk at lot on the field, which he thinks is good in defence. He said: "He deserves to be captain but if he plays badly or makes lots of mistakes then I will not let him get away with it.
"He will still get a ticking off from me just like the rest of the players will if they make mistakes. But as a defence we were good today."
Gary was pleased with the team performance and delighted with the result. He said: "We got straight into them and did not look back."
Brother Wayne thought that Chippenham had a great game. He said: "We were solid at the back. To keep a clean sheet away from home is a priority.''
