Division One
POTTERNE now seem doomed in division one as they collapsed at Westinghouse to 46 all out.
John Cleverley bowled 11.4 overs and took 4-2. Westinghouse went on to win by ten wickets.
The relegation battle took another twist on Saturday as Box bounced back from last week's seemingly decisive defeat to gain a victory at Purton.
Purton were bowled out for 144 and then, thanks to Dave Crawford (55 not out), Box picked up a three wicket victory with just seven balls left.
Nationwide House, perhaps as expected, lost at home to second placed Great Bedwyn. Batting first, Bedwyn made 205-8 with Chris Blundy (55) top scoring.
Despite Eddy Roofe (63), Mick Harris (40) and Shane Thompson (42); Nationwide were bowled out for 198 on the game's last ball, leaving them losers by seven runs.
This defeat leaves Nationwide just three points clear of Box, who have a game in hand.
Leaders Marshfield entertained Collingbourne and with 61 from Tom Edmunds the visitors scored 186-7.
Matt Watson with 3-42 in 14 overs was the pick of the Marshfield attack. Rupert Crockett (eight not out), James Williams (32) and William Pascall (35 not out) then saw the leaders to a seven wicket victory with 14 balls remaining.
The meeting of third and fourth placed Calne and Bath Civil Service ended with a 23-run win for Calne.
Thanks to Chris Downham (78)
and Lian Botes (36 not out), Calne scored 175-4. Pete Knight then took 7-57 in 14.4 overs as, despite Chris Killen (43), Civil Service were dismissed for 152.
Division Two
THE meeting of the top two at Lechlade, where leaders Spye Park were the visitors, ended in a narrow 15-run success for the home side.
The result puts them on top thanks to having won one match more
than Spye.
Batting first, Lechlade scored 186-9 with Ijaz Khan managing 78 not out. For Spye, Dave Beal took 4-59 in 15 overs and John Beal 4-38 in 14. Dave then top scored with 67 as Spye were bowled out for 171 with two balls remaining.
For Lechlade the wickets were shared between Paul Rowley (3-7 in ten balls) who wrapped up the tail after Ijaz had taken 3-42 in seven overs and Matt Southall 1-24 in 15.
Third placed Cooper-Avon Tyres kept the pressure on as they won at lowly Seagry by 129 runs. Cooper-Avon scored 235-9 with Dean Wallington (61) top scoring as Willy Tidmarsh took 6-51 in his 15 overs.
Rich Jory (4-28 in 13 overs) and Dean (3-55 in 15) then helped bowl Seagry out for 126 in the 30 second over. Ian Thurgood top scored with 40 not out.
Buscot Park who had started to drift into the danger zone picked up valuable points at home to Burbage and E.R.
With Pete Amor (59) and Terry Strong (55) Burbage closed at 186-5. Nick Cook took 3-39 in 15 overs.
Pete Harris (58 not out) and Dave Tenna (42) then steered Buscot to a five wicket win with an over to spare.
Urchfont gained a comfortable seven wicket win at home to Beanacre who look doomed.
Beanacre made 125-8, thanks almost entirely to Stuart Wakely's 91 not out, as Wade Williams took 6-34. Steve Fortune (31) and Mark Bateman then steered Urchfont to victory.
Swindon Civil Service entertained Sutton Veny and bowled them out for 100, despite a fighting 56 from Rob Robson. Nick Money took 4-13 in seven overs and Andy Mildenhall 4-13 in seven and a half doing the damage.
It needed a patient 43 not out from Michael Giddings to finally see the Civil service to a four wicket win with six overs left.
Division Three
AVEBURY look almost home as divisional champions following their 105 run win over Lambourn.
Thanks to Rob Gater (94) and Andrew Blake (25) they totalled 176-5 as Paul Annetts bowled a tight spell to finish with 2-20 in his 15 overs.
Peter Force-Jones, 4-22 in five overs, and Dominic Fry, 3-28 in 11, then helped bowl Lambourn out for just 71.
Blunsdon narrowed the gap from third place as they defeated hosts and second placed Wanborough.
With Jewells Beckett (63), John Collins (51 not out) and Chris Hamblin (60 not out) Blunsdon closed on 192-3. Chris then took 3-23 in 12 overs and Mark Wilson 3-35 in 15 as, despite 43 from Nick Stacey, Wanborough were bowled out for 102.
Wroughton Wranglers scored 165-5 with Martin Gregory (51) and Mark McMeekin (39) against bottom placed Highworth. Mike Evans then took 4-15 in 9.1 overs as Highworth were bowled out for 93; Vijay top scoring with 45.
Moredon Royal Oak's run of success continues and they now seem safe. They restricted visiting Heytesbury to 118-8; Richard Jelfs managed 35 while Mo Farouk took 3-31 in 13 overs and Phil Morton 2-33 in 15. Farouk (26), Mat Evans (24) and Barry Sellar (23 not out) then helped Moredon to a six-wicket victory with 12 overs left.
Cherhill gained some useful points as they overcame visitors Swindon thirds by eight wickets.
They bowled Swindon out for 114; Alan Biggins 30; Ben Webber 5-33 in 14 overs and Mick Butt 2-19 in seven.
Butt (34 not out) and Mark Gresham (49) then helped knock the runs off in just 15 overs.
The meeting of the top two in division six at Beehive Bradford ended with the home side gaining ground on leaders Nettleton.
Beehive made 206 all out with Micky Spong (89), John Sheppard (26) and Andy Goddard (26) top scoring, whilst Ian Sandell took 5-61 in 15 overs, and Andy Cousins 2-57 in 13 overs.
Despite 78 from Ian Witt, Nettleton were restricted to 176-8 in reply with Lee Hamley taking 5-57 in 11 overs and Adrian Day 2-29 in 15.
Chippenham thirds in third place keep up their challenge following a 54-run home win against Calne seconds, whose losing run continues.
Chippenham, thanks to Ray Bullen (68), Nathan Robertson (39) and Chris Harris (21) scored 196-8. Dave Matthews with 6-71 in 14 overs was the pick of the Calne attack.
Kevin Tose (60) and Charlie Moss (35) then top scored as Calne were bowled out for 142; Steve Merryweather took 3-34 in 14 overs and John Whiteman 4-24 in eight.
A fine 117 not out by Richard Holman helped All Cannings to 276-4 at Goatacre thirds. Other useful contributions came from Owen Rose (46) and Andy Legge (40 not out).
Goatacre were then hustled out for 58; Gerry Wakefield managed 26 not-out as Garry Perrett took 3-22 in five overs and Andy Goodall 5-10 in 10.
Division Five
Marshfield seconds consolidated their leadership at the top of division five with a 39 run win at United Churches. Garry Pullin (42) top scoring in their 172-9.
Rob New took 3-47 in 15 overs, and Pullin responded with 4-23 in his 15 overs as Churches were restricted to 133-9.
Purton seconds missed the chance to take over second place from Nationwide seconds, who had a free week as they lost at Devizes thirds.
Purton scored 174-4 with Dave Allen (49), Garry Allen (36) and Andy Diston (30). For Devizes, Paul Reese, 1-35 in 12 overs, and Andy Langan, 1-38 in 12, bowled tidy spells.
In their reply, Devizes had to thank Steve Drewett (55), Phil Ashman (27 not out) and Tim Smith (24) for a narrow two wicket win which came with two balls to spare. Joe Dunn, 3-41 in seven overs, and Robert Preddy, 1-34 in 15 overs, were the pick of the Purton attack. This defeat left Purton level on points with Nationwide but with one win less.
Strugglers Burbage and ER seconds enjoyed a rare victory at the expense of Buscot Park seconds. Buscot scored a useful 221-9 thanks to Pete Stone (35) and Tim Manners (61) as Keith Wheeler took 3-21 and Graham Milne 3-35. Wheeler then scored a useful 31 to help Ashley Rozier (80) and Paul Swatton (43) see Burbage to a narrow one wicket win with five overs remaining.
Division Seven
WITH leaders Trowbridge 'A' not playing, their challengers, Collingbourne seconds and Cooper-Avon Tyres seconds had the chance to overtake them. Which they did.
Collingbourne entertained Corsham fourths and restricted them to 156-8 with Alan Smith (51) and Tony Shardlow (22) top scorers.
Collingbourne then made a disastrous start as they slipped to 11-4, with Corsham's skipper, Steve Hicks, starting with three wicket maidens finally ending with 6-40.
Thanks to Steve Knight (73) and James Allsop (21 not out), Collingbourne recovered to gain the narrowest of wins by one wicket.
At Cooper-Avon, Marshfield thirds were bowled out for 100; Alan Wills making 19, while James Button took 4-28 in nine and Paul Hunt 3-28 in 15.
With useful contributions from James (21), Paul (21 not out) and Phil Russell (22), Cooper-Avon were able to gain a four wicket success. Martin Lannegan bowling well for the visitors to end with 3-50 in 15 overs.
Potterne seconds look certain to be relegated as they lost at home to Cherhill seconds. Nick Raven (47) and Tim Carpenter (23) helped Cherhill to 171-8 as Brendan Baker took 4-54 in 15 overs and Andy Genever 3-58 in 12.
Despite skipper Dave Evans scoring 47, Potterne were bowled out for 94.
Division Eight
LEADERS Biddestone thirds wobbled again and had to be content with a tied match at lowly Bathford seconds.
Bathford scored 152-7 with Mike Noel (66) and Darren Sutton (36) as Craig Pepper took 4-17 in six overs.
It was thanks to Mick Hudson (90) and Kevin Mitchell (26) that Biddestone managed 152 before losing their last wicket with the scores level and two balls remaining. Carlos Aguerra took 3-16 in 5.4 overs.
Chippenham fourths are back in second place following their visit to fellow challengers Swindon fourths.
Swindon managed only 95 all out; Elliott Read (34) with Taff Davis, 2-17 in 10 overs, Simon Goodman, 2-16 in 7.5, and Zuring Quershi, 2-15 in five, doing most of the damage.
Led by Azad Quershi (58 not out), Chippenham gained a seven wicket win with 13 overs in hand.
Bottom of the table All Cannings seconds raced to 262-7 at home to United Churches seconds.
Garry Hargeaves (51) and Julian Reid (93 not out) led the run spree as John Pazzard took 3-53 in eight overs and Graham Spackman 2-52 in 13.
Pazzard then top scored with 29 as Churches were bowled out for 120; Garry 4-24 in 13 overs and Terry Patterson 2-13; giving All Cannings a welcome success.
Highworth seconds' good patch continues as they scored 196-9 at home to Devizes fourths. Peter Wills (58) and Bobby Groves (38) top scored. Mark Webb with 3-45 in 13 overs was the pick of the Devizes attack.
Tom White then took 5-18 in 10 overs as Devizes were bowled out for 97.
