The Chiseldon Local History Group was formed 18 years ago after several villagers attended a local history course.
Today membership stands at 26 and the group meets in the Church Hall on the third Wednesday of every month at 7.30pm and guests are always welcome.
Opening the museum was a major achievement for such a small group but David Bailey said that there are still other things the group wants to do.
"We still have a lot of documentation that needs to be done and our aim is to become an officially registered museum," he said.
When this happens it should make it easier for the group to apply and receive grants which can be used to improve the museum.
"We have about four times the number of photos that are currently on show and many of them are pictures of locations in the village that have now changed beyond all recognition," said David.
"It would be nice to put them on a database and produce our own website, and indeed get a computer to keep our own records on."
He said that extra cash would also allow the group to install more lighting in the museum, and improve the floor of the building.
