Where does the Kennet District Council planning services manager actually live? Has he ever visited the town or does he work from a screenless laptop in Wonderland?

I was appalled to read that he has indicated his unwillingness to allow an NHS dental practice to set up shop in the High Street, a so-called prime shopping area.

If it was, I am sure there must be a queue of top high street retailers just waiting to take this shop over. Here we have the spectre of a vital public health service which actually wants to stay and expand in our much beleaguered town; it should be welcomed with open arms.

This practice will actually bring people into the town where they might, in addition to 'suffering' dental treatment, actually spend money in the charity shops, coffee bars etc which now form the basis of most market town high streets these days.
