THE opportunity to share a table with a Bath rugby player is up for grabs at a charity meal and auction in September.

Rob Deadman, 33, a former Wiltshire rugby captain, of Fleur de Lys Drive, Southwick, is organising the glamorous meal and auction to raise money for Bath Cancer Support Group.

His wife Rachel, who was 28, died after a three-year battle with cervical cancer in May and he is now determined to raise £10,000 for the charity.

At the auction, which has

a sporty theme, there will be signed rugby shirts, footballs, cricket bats and snooker cues on offer.

Snooker player Stephen Lee

has even donated a signed

waistcoat.

Most of the Bath rugby team will be there on the night and, by paying a little extra, guests can share a table with one of the players.

There are about 400 seats at the dinner, which will be held at the Bath Pavillion at 7pm on September 15.

Tickets cost £25, or £300 for a table of 10 with a rugby player.

To reserve a seat contact Mr Deadman on (01225) 774008.
