A SPONSORED walkabout is being organised in Wiltshire to raise money to help combat one of the UK's biggest killers.
Every week three people die prematurely from coronary heart disease in Wiltshire alone and members of the Trowbridge volunteer branch of the British Heart Foundation want to help.
Money raised from a Westbury White Horse Walkabout on National Walking Day, September 19, will help the BHF continue to fund research and local care and education programmes.
Ron Board, of the Trowbridge BHF branch, said: "Not only do we hope everyone has a good time and enjoy the spectacular countryside, but we also hope the walks will demonstrate just how easy it is to enjoy light exercise which is vital in order to keep our hearts healthy."
There is a choice of three walks: a 1.5 mile level walk; a three mile intermediate walk; and an eight mile ramble. For details contact Heather Timbrell on (01225) 754376 or heather@rjttrans.freeserve.co.uk or call the BHF regional office on 0800 652 5818.
