THE Wiltshire Times is appealing for businesses to come forward with out of the ordinary prizes for a charity auction to be held in aid of the 150 Fund.
The event will be an auction of unusual items that let people experience something different or special.
Editor Toby Granville said: "The 150 Fund is something that will benefit the whole community and we are looking for local businesses to get involved.
"We are looking for them to come forward with ideas for how they can provide someone with an experience that is a bit different and, of course, fun."
The auction is just one of the events to raise money for the fund, which will give grants to local charities and organisations that give so much to the community and often rely on fundraising and donations to keep going.
The next major event will be the Musical Mayhem day to be held at the Twelve Bells pub in Trowbridge.
The day will feature a host of the best local bands, including MGB, The Buttmonkeys, Cursus and The Usual Suspects, performing throughout the day.
The event, inspired by jam sessions held every week, is the second to be held at the Seymour Road pub.
The last time it was held Musical Mayhem raised over £500 for the 150 Fund.
This time 25 per cent of the proceeds will go into the fund, with the remainder to be spent on a much-needed PA system for the pub.
True romantics can look forward to the Wedding Summer Ball at Trowbridge Civic Hall on September 25.
Couples can recreate the magic of their own wedding celebrations at the event, which will be just like a wedding evening party.
Many will be getting into the spirit of the occasion by putting on their wedding gowns or morning suits.
Proceeds will be divided between the 150 Fund and Dorothy House Hospice in Winsley.
Tickets cost £25 per person and are available from Debbie Fox on (01373) 304747 or 07811 333253.
