THE sound of champagne corks popping could be heard across west Wiltshire as A- level students celebrated a bumper set of results.
Stonar School, Atworth, boasted the district's star performer with Heidi Wan securing five A grade passes.
St Augustine's Catholic College, Trowbridge was among the top performing comprehensives with 11 pupils achieving three A grades.
St Laurence School in Bradford on Avon achieved a 99 per cent pass rate, with 52 per cent of grades at A or B.
At Matravers School in Westbury 42 per cent of students earned an A or B mark.
Dominee Reid, 18, was Clarendon School's star with three top A-level passes, while Steven Saunders and Leila Wildsmith, of George Ward School, Melksham, gained three A grades each.
