SMOKING is not "a drug just like alcohol" (Phil Reynolds' letter of August 13). Nicotine is a drug like alcohol, but smoking is a habit that smokers impose on everyone around them.
Pub-goers can choose between beer and lemonade, but when people are smoking, no-one can choose not to breathe smoke. That is why smoking should be banned in public places.
