GARFIELD may be making his big screen debut this month, but a cat answering to his description has been entertaining his neighbours in Trowbridge for years.
Nine-year-old Felix has become a celebrity in the area surrounding his Halfway Close home and is regularly showered with gifts, despite the scrapes he gets into.
Like the comic book character, Felix has been known to ruin owner Steve Jordan's handiwork on occasions, but this has done little to diminish his popular appeal. Tesco worker Mr Jordan, 42, said: "He has had such an effect on the neighbours at number 19 that for the last two years they have sent him a Christmas stocking.
"When I drive up he comes out and greets me every time like he is a dog. Also when I'm using the computer he climbs up and starts playing with the mouse to get my attention and paws the keyboard."
Mr Jordan, who has had Felix since he was a kitten said: "I've had quite a difficult year and he has been a great source of unconditional love for me."
