SARSEN Housing Association isn't all about renting out houses to local people as visitors to a special dance performance in St Peter's Primary School hall in Devizes discovered last week.
Sarsen had joined forces with the Participatory Arts Workshop Scheme, better known as PAWS, to set up free dance workshops for local children.
Run over four days, the final session took place last Friday when the young dancers, aged between seven and 11, strutted their stuff in a showcase production.
The workshop was entitled A Chance to Dance and instructor Deborah Dunn chose Street Dance for Street Kids as the theme for the production.
Annette Holdsworth, community development officer at Sarsen, who organised the workshops, said: "We wanted to offer the kids something different to do in their summer holidays, and something that would appeal to both boys and girls.
"The first two workshops went very well and I know the children were really looking forward to performing in front of their parents last Friday."
PAWS is operated and funded by the four district councils of Wiltshire and Sarsen expressed their gratitude to St Peter's School for the use of their hall for the course.
Most of the 12 children who took part are in fact pupils at St Peter's School.
