THE Red Cross needs more volunteers to help out at projects that take place across Swindon.
The charity's centre in Faringdon Road needs help with its day-to-day running during its opening hours of 10am to 2pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The centre loans wheelchairs, commodes and other essential equipment to disabled and elderly people. Training is available to those interested.
Red Cross volunteer Derek Down said: "We are working hard to access equipment but we could really do with some more help.
"The experience is very rewarding."
The 'home from hospital' service is also in desperate need of eager, friendly volunteers who want to meet new people.
Volunteers visit the homes of people who have just come out of hospital and help them with general daily tasks such as grocery shopping.
The Red Cross pays for all travel expenses.
