71857-05VILLAGERS came together to enjoy countryside pursuits at the 73rd Wanborough Show.
The host of attractions included horse and dog shows, a traditional farmers' market and a re-enactment of Saxon combat.
The village was awash with colour with displays of floats and costumes.
David Forster, of Wroughton, proudly showed off his Shetland pony, Millbrook Blitzen, who was the first-prize winner in the International Miniature Horse Show.
The 39-year-old said: "I'm enjoying it so far, it's been a really good show."
The event culminated in a procession, comprising all the competition floats.
The people on the Red Sparrows float sprayed the crowd with water guns much to the delight of children and surprise of the adults.
Bargain hunters were not disappointed either, as there was a wealth of stalls, from clothes to ornaments.
One of the organisers Linda Hunt, 45, said: "It was an excellent turn out.
"The weather has been so odd lately so the fact it was a sunny day brought people out.
"People were really imaginative with their floats they could choose their own theme."
Winners of floats from the procession included the Wanborough Scouts, who dressed up as Olympic athletes, the Poplars Nursery, whose theme was pixies and fairies, and the Chapel Lane residents, who re-enacted 'Allo 'Allo.
