Jodie Hill looks after the foal at Cholderton Rare Breeds Farm.THIS cute Eriskay foal is the latest addition to the family of animals living at Cholderton Rare Breeds Farm.
Born just over a week ago, the fit and healthy colt, who is as yet nameless, is doing well. He is one of just a handful of Eriskay ponies living at the farm and the first such foal to be born there.
Cholderton is one of the few farms in the UK to be taking part in a comprehensive Eriskay breeding programme, following a huge drop in numbers.
In the 1970s, the number of Eriskay ponies fell to critical levels. The breed originates in the Western Isles of Scotland.
With only 300 in existence, it is considered an endangered species and remains on the critical list.
