HIGH-FLYING twins Libby and Poppy Dover have been celebrating their A-level results by performing daring stunts strapped to the wings of a biplane.

The girls, of Hackthorn, Durrington, joined the Aerosuperbatics, St Ivel Utterly Butterly wingwalking display team after completing their A-levels.

The 18-year-old sisters, who studied at Millfield School, in Somerset, received their results last Thursday in a telephone call from mum Cathy, just before Poppy flew off to take part in a display in Dawlish.

Libby who got a B in business studies, a C in biology and a C in French, will work part-time for Aerosuperbatics during her year out before travelling to South Africa in 2005 to take her private pilot's licence.

She then plans to go for her airline transport pilot's licence, in the hope of one day working for British Airways, following in the footsteps of her father and her brother, who has just qualified as an airline pilot.

Poppy was delighted to have been awarded an A in A-level art and two As in her Advanced Vocational Certificate of Education in art and design.

She will also be continuing with the wingwalking team on a part-time basis, having secured a place at Kingston University to do an art foundation course starting next month.

Poppy then hopes to go on to do a degree in fine art or fashion in London.

Talking about her wingwalking, Poppy said: "You get a real buzz and the adrenalin is like nothing else I have ever experienced. It's a fantastic job!"

The girls managed to secure a place on the Utterly Butterly team, having been interested in the wingwalkers from a young age, after seeing them at airshows up and down the country.

After sending in their CVs and going for some intensive training, the sisters were accepted into the team and are now looking forward to becoming full-time wingwalkers next summer.
