GOALKEEPER Mark Hervin says that his team cannot rely on one player to score all the goals.
Chippenham were missing star striker James Constable, who was injured for the game against Rugby United on Saturday. They did score and create a host of chances but seemed to miss Constable's clinical finishing, as they could not beat Rugby goalkeeper Dean Thomas.
Hervin, 32, said: "Having James out is not good as he is a big player, but we have to score goals from other players.
"Most teams will miss their big players when injuries occur but you need to get past it."
He thought the other two strikers did well against a stern Rugby side. He added: "Sam Allison and Martin Paul did tremendously well. They did all that was asked of them and hit the target and that's what they are on the pitch to do."
"Perhaps it could have been different if James was there. I think their goalkeeper was brilliant. I know Constable has a good record but we have to get away from that. We have to be better."
Chippenham only have three strikers in their squad and did not cover on the bench for Saturday's game.
Hervin said: "Most teams need four strikers. We definitely needed one on the bench. In the end Scott Walker had to roam up front.''
Hervin believes his side must learn from Saturday and make the most of the chances when they come along.
He said: "We are not going to have it our way all the time and score lots of goals like we did against Dunstable."
