Burglar Mark Roberts has been remanded in custody after admitting two break-ins in the Malmesbury area.

The 33-year-old, who was appearing at Swindon Crown Court on Friday, also pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and driving without insurance.

Roberts took electrical goods when he broke into York House at Crudwell on Wednesday, June 16. He then broke into Gauzebrook in the village of Rodbourne near Malmesbury but left empty handed.

He was then involved in driving a blue K-reg Vauxhall Astra dangerously on the A429 at Corston.

Roberts, of Carton Close, Barton Hill, Bristol, admitted two counts of burglary, driving without insurance, dangerous driving and the theft of petrol worth £85 on an earlier date.

He also asked for a further 12 matters to be taken into consideration when he is finally sentenced, and admitted he has breached a conditional discharge for attempted theft and having an offensive weapon.

Judge Charles Wade adjourned the case so a pre-sentence report could be compiled and remanded Roberts in custody.
