13903/1Creative kids drew on their talents to produce a collection of fun pictures at Charlton Village Hall last Monday.

The workshop was organised for seven-12 year olds and involved 13 children.

It was led by Verity Smith who runs Cirencester company Underground Arts, with partner Dinah Kees.

The morning session was called working with emotions, and enabled youngsters to make collages and drawings from toys or photographs special to them.

In the afternoon the children turned their favourite objects into drawings of superheroes.

Miss Smith said everyone really enjoyed themselves.

"There is not much opportunity for the kids to do things like this at school.

"Our workshop was about getting them to use their imagination. It was so nice to meet them all and I got a lot of requests to draw cows for them," said Miss Smith.

Many of the children who came now want to work with clay and collage in the future.

Miss Smith said: "All the children who took part were all genuinely interested in art.

"Everyone was laughing and joking and for me it was just like being a big kid again.

"Art can be a girly subject and I would have liked more boys, but we had a great day."

Underground Arts will be running more Sunday arts workshops from September 26, ten for six-eight year olds and ten for nine-11 year olds.
