BIDDESTONE'S Martin Sawyer continued his fine form as he rescued his side with 94 not out in their home match against Westbury.
Biddestone lost six cheap wickets before Sawyer and James Harlowe (37 not out) brought about a recovery to take their side to a commanding 206-6 declared in 35 overs. Richard Mills (2-22) and Jacob Bullus (2-46) were the leading Westbury bowlers.
In reply, Milo Mackean (23) and Mills (53 not out) gave Westbury a solid start but accurate Biddestone bowling resulted in Westbury falling well behind the required rate. Westbury finished on 120-4 to gain a losing draw (Biddestone 13 points, Westbury 8 points).
Cannings struggled for runs at Wootton Bassett in the face of accurate bowling from Jay Yalden (3-20), Dean Williamson (2-2), Jack Paish (2-8) and Tom Davies (1-4 off 6 overs).
Only N Clarke (24) and G. Bissett (18) reached double figures a Cannings were bowled out for 73 in 29 overs. Bassett also found batting difficult before Davies (35 not out) played a decisive innings to see the home side to victory by 5 wickets (Wootton Bassett 20 points, Cannings 2 points).
U15
GEORGE Rigali (45) and Elliott Read (41) enjoyed a solid third-wicket partnership to enable Swindon to reach 178-6 declared away to Westbury.
Lee Meadon (2-32) and S.Cameron (2-38) were the main wicket takers for Westbury. Tom White (21), Syed Ibrahim (28) and Stuart Greener (31) all made useful contributions for Westbury before Simon Dill (3-29) and Read (2-20) made important breakthroughs for Swindon.
The advantage shifted to Swindon but Westbury's ninth wicket pair remained firm and the home side ended on 139-8 to secure the draw (Westbury 9 points, Swindon 14 points).
