SWINDON'S only self-confessed motelier has expanded the number of his rooms because business is booming.
Having built five double and twin motel rooms three years ago, Robert Feal-Martinez, landlord of the Carpenter's Arms in South Marston, has added several more.
"As Swindon's only motel, demand for our accommodation has grown since opening the rooms in 2001," he said.
"So we decided to increase the number of letting rooms and in our particular market, it's single rooms that people are calling for not doubles, as a significant proportion of our customers are business people."
James Arkell, managing director at Arkell's Brewery, which owns The Carpenter's Arms, said: "Robert has achieved 60 per cent repeat business on accommodation and 70 per cent repeat business for the pub.
"These are statistics to be proud of ."
