GAZETTE & HERALD: Hundreds of youngsters bounced into Calne Town Football Social Club's fun day last weekend to play on inflatable games and raise money for charity.
Around 450 people went to Bremhill View on Sunday to play football bungee style, battle it out as gladiators on turrets using pugil sticks, to participate in the tug-of-war and attempt to stay on the buckin' bronco.
Other attractions included a horseshoe tossing competition, skittles, the Southern Shockwaves cheerleading team, donkey rides, line dancers and a silver band.
Secretary and trustee Don Winchcombe was happy with the turnout: He said: "It went very, very well a wonderful day.
"The weather held for us and it was well attended.
"We can honestly say it was the best fun day we have ever had as the social club."
Mr Winchcombe said that the cheerleaders and line dancers were very impressive.
Money from the event is going towards Calne Community Transport, Wiltshire Air Ambulance and the Children's Liver Disease Foundation as well as St. Dunstan Junior School and Fynamore Primary School.
The club hopes to present the money to the charities next week.
Mr Winchcombe said: "It was a big laugh and it will be bigger and better next year."
